Members of the ‎ Nigerian Institution of Estate Surveyors and Valuers, NIESV, in the country have been called upon to rally round and support their leaders in order to move the body forward.

The chairman of the Delta State Branch of NIESV, Chief (Sir) Efe Appih made this appeal when its members paid a courtesy visit to the President of the Institution, Olorogun James Omeru, today in his Warri office.

Chief Appih, who extolled the leadership qualities and fatherly assistance of the President on both advisory and material grounds to the branch, over the years, expressed optimism that the Branch was at an advantage, having the President come from Delta State.

He stated that the Delta State NIESV has taken the first step of a thousand kilometers in the journey towards verifiable improvement and growth of the Delta State branch. ” As we speak, our members can  now effortlessly access information, interact and analyse issues concerning NIESV with modern communication mechanisms already in place”, he added.

Chief Appih enumerated various needs of his branch which plans to partner with government across the three arms, saying that his group will be eternally grateful for assistance from the centre as well as mentorship by the NIESV President to enable the branch actualize its set goals.

Responding, Olorogun James Omeru thanked the members for their visit, pointing out that it was first of its kind since inception of Delta State branch.

He advised the State Chairman, Chief Efe Appih and his executive, especially now that the election has come and gone, to reach out and carry all members along irrespective of their differences, urging them to operate and run a very transparent government.

On the issue of a permanent secretariat, the President tasked all members of the Delta State Branch of NIESV to pull efforts together for speedy execution of the project, promising that the national body is willing to assist the branch once they are able to “start something”.

Olorogun Omeru disclossed that the institution is working tirelessly and in recognition, the University of Benin has established a department for Estate Management study, to which NIESV has donated a thousand textbooks each to both the university and the Fedral Polytechnic, Auchi, to keep students abreast and deepen their knowledge in the profession.

in a similar vein, the President assured that arrangement has been concluded for a land in Abuja on which the NIESV national secretariat‎ would be built.

A member of the delegation, Esv. Chris Okolo, also called on members of the institution to be more united, adding that, “we are not rivals in this institution but we are to complement each other and move the association forward. Let us try and be noble men and women in such a noble profession”, he stressed.

High point of the visit was presentation of a souvenir by the Delta State NIESV to the President of the Institution, Olorogun James Omeru.

The Chairman, Chief (Sir) Efe Appih was accompanied by  his vice, ESV Edna Emuakpeje (Mrs), Esv. Clement Odiase and other members of the branch.
