A Niger Delta activist and Environmental Consultant, Prince Hosanna Oluyemi Jalogho has called for the removal of the Benin created Enogie of Ologbo, an oil-rich autonomous Itsekiri Community in Edo State.

Prince Jalogho spoke against the background of the recent crisis and alleged nuisance disseminated by the Enogie through his private vigilante security outfit who went to disrupt the annual Itsekiri Ologbo cultural festival where a woman died as a result of the beating received during the mayham wrecked on the 31 December, 2021.

Jalogho who stated that Ologbo Itsekiri settlement like that in Abudu has been there since time immemorial and live harmoniously with her neighbors but expressed regret that since the emergence of the present Enogie who he described as “riotous, violent, troublesome and delight in inciting the youths of the community, things have taken e very dangerous dimension”, saying that the Enogie vigilante destroyed the community DPO’s vehicle while trying to ensure peace during the annual Ologbo festival but his gesture was interpreted to mean support for the Itsekiri.

He therefore called for a more united Ologbo indigenes to confront their predicament even as he further expressed regret that some Itsekiri person’s have made themselves available as tools for the Enogie’s ambition.

“There’s no need for an Enogie in an Itsekiri settlement with the Iyatsere of Warri in place,” Jalogho said.
