The Udu monarch said this during a consultation visit by the Emerhor Campaign Organization at his palace at Ovwian Aladja, Udu local government area of Delta State, weekend.

The Ohworu the 1st said that he was tipping Olorogun Emerhor for the Delta Central Senatorial seat because he believed that he had done a lot of things for the Urhobo nation, adding that it was people like Emerhor that  can lead the Urhobo nation to Eldorado.

He stressed that Olorogun Emerhor, who is aspiring for the senate position, was already an established and successful business man, noting that he believed he will fight the course of Urhobo nation with his vast wealth of experience he had gathered in the business world.

He added that the reign of PDP in the state had not favoured the Urhobo nation, hence the need to send their illustrious son to the hallowed chamber to help bring back the lost glory of Urhobo land.

He urged Emerhor to go to the senate and liberate the Urhobo nation and bring back the dividends of democracy, stressing that the Urhobo nation were lacking behind in the polity of Nigeria.

He said; “If you go to Europe, there is steady power supply there. Why can’t we have steady power supply here? Why can’t we have flourishing industries in our kingdom? Our youths are jobless because there is no federal presence here. We want to be like Europe and Olorogun O’tega Emerhor is that man that is going to bring the dividends of democracy to us.”

Earlier in his address, Olorogun Emerhor thanked the king for welcoming them to his palace, pleading with the king to mobilize his people to support him.

He said the purpose of the visit was to intimate the king about his ambition to run for the senate and also to solicit his support and prayers  so that he could succeed in his mission.

Olorogun Emerhor said that he was availing himself for the senate position because he had seen the suffering his people had been passing through under the present government, adding that he was going there to fight the Urhobo course.

He urged all Urhobo sons and  daughters to rally round the new party, APC, saying that the party has come to stay in Delta Central in particular, and Nigeria as whole and as a party that will give PDP tough competition.

He said: “The king is the father of all and I have come to seek for the prayers of the king. There are now two powerful parties in Nigeria, PDP and APC. The Urhobos do not want to be left behind and that is why we are joining APC so that we could be in the majority just like others. We do not want to be left behind again. We do not want to be feeding from the crumbs that fell from the tables of others. This is why I am coming out to represent my people.”
