A chieftain of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Okpe local Government Area, Chief Sheriff Oborevwori has indicated interest in representing Okpe Constituency in the Delta state House of Assembly.

Making his intention known to the executive of the PDP in Okpe local Govt  Area recently, Chief Oborevwori lamented that the Okpe people have for a very long time been denied of proper representation at the law making house, adding that he has decided to contest for the seat to enable him attract the dividend of democracy and proper representation for the people.

Chief Oborivwori who is also a Special Assistant to Governor Emmanuel Uduaghan, recalled that he has worked selflessly for the PDP in the area, adding that his desire to serve the people is not to enrich his pocket but to address the problems of the people.

Chief Sheriff used the occasion to thank the Governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan, who, according to him, has been very kind to him, adding that he has been fair to Okpe people especially by way of projects in the area.

He appealed to the PDP chairman in the area, Chief Cosmos Ighoraye and the entire PDP Exco in the local Government Area to support and give him the ticket, adding that he was aware that nobody has been endorsed for the position.

Responding, the chairman, chief Ighoraye thanked the aspirant for recognizing the importance of the party, adding that there is going to be a level playing ground for all contestants in the party.

He however assured that the party would support any aspirant who emerge a candidate of the party from the primary.

Present at the occasion were party chieftains and members from across the council area including the  PDP chairmanship candidate for Okpe Local Government council, Chief Prince Ejinyere, Chief Asini, Chief Ometa and several other party faithful.
