The Speaker of Delta State House of Assembly, Rt Hon Sheriff Oborevwori has  described the untimely demise of Mr Timi Ebikagboro, sports journalist with the Delta Broadcasting Service (DBS) Warri as shocking.

Mr Timi Ebikagboro, died in the early hours of Friday, September 2017 in Warri, Delta State after a brief illness.

In a press statement issued in Asaba by his Chief Press Secretary, Dennis Otu,  the Speaker said that he received the news as a rude shock, saying that the journalist he described as displined and focused  died at the time he was most needed.

According to the Statement;”On Friday morning, I received the painful news of the demise of Mr Timi Ebikagboro of DBS, Warri with a rude shock.  Words are not enough to describe how I felt when the news broke out.”

“His death at this time when he was most needed is very devastating. My heart is heavy. It was a black Friday”.

The Speaker while consoling the family of the deceased, prayed God to grant them the fortitude to bear the irreparable loss.

Speaker Oborevwori also used the medium to express  his condolences to the management and Staff of DBS Warri and the Sports Community, imploring them to take heart.

” I pray that God should make us all to be strong at this moment of grief. My heart goes out to those he left behind, especially his wife and children. May his gentle soul and that of all the faithful departed rest in perfect peace and may the perpetual light shine upon them”, he said in the Statement.
