In his continued efforts at sensitizing Deltans on his ambition, a Delta State gubernatorial hopeful in the 2015 election,  Ambassador Gabriel Oyibode has said that the next governor of Delta state should be a God-fearing man of proven integrity and dignity.

Honourable Oyibode made this assertion while on consultation visit to some prominent Deltans, political leaders and traditional rulers across the state.

At the palace of the Asagba of Asaba, Professor Chike Edozien, yesterday, the real estate mogul assured the Asagba of even development of the state.

Oyibode, who is offering to serve Delta State on the platform of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, explained that the man who is to take over the mantle of leadership in 2015 should build on the solid foundation already laid down by the incumbent governor, Dr. Emmanuel Uduaghan,  and not a man who wants to enrich himself and one sector of the state. “As you all can see, our amiable Governor has done creditably well. So, whoever is taking over must deliberately build and improve on these laudable achievements,” he said.

He called on the people of Delta to be wary of self-seeking politicians as well as those who want to buy their votes and mortgage the future of the state, stressing that Delta State is not for sale.

Responding, the Asagba of Asaba assured Ambassador Oyibode that there would be a level playing ground for all aspirants. The monarch urged all politicians to eschew politics of bitterness and that the unity of Delta should be paramount in their minds.

Other places visited by the philanthropist, who hails from Ezionum in Ukwuani Local Government Area of Delta State, include the residence of Chief Judith Enamuotor, Chief Michael Adiotomre, Prof. Sam Oyovbaire, and Chief, Sir E.K. Gbaragada,  all of whom prayed for him and assured him of their support.
