In a determined effort to make technical education attractive and all embracing to would-be students, Delta State Government has provided modern state of the art boarding facilities in three of the seven technical colleges in the state.

Technical Colleges currently with this boarding facilities are Sapele Technical College, Ofagbe Technical College and Agbor Technical College spread across the three Senatorial District of the State.

This was disclosed newsmen by Com. Mike Akpobire, Executive Secretary, Delta State Technical and Vocational Education Board, he said that as a result of the upgrading of Technical Colleges by the state government, students in the Colleges now have the opportunity to participate/enroll for the three external examinations namely; National Examination Council of Nigeria (NECO), West African Examination Council (WAEC) and the National Business and Technical Examination Board (NABTEB)

Comrade Akpobire also said that candidates with Primary School Leaving Certificate can also apply for JSS1 in any of the seven Technical Colleges spread across the state.

The Executive Secretary who urges parents and guardians to take advantage of the golden opportunity provided to enroll their children for any of the courses /trades offered by the colleges, said admission into any of the colleges will close by November 30′ 2016.

He listed some of the courses offered by the Colleges to include; Fabrication, Electrical Installation, Motor Vehicle Mechanic, Woodwork, Block/Brick laying, Concreting, Catering and Refrigeration. Others are Air Conditioning, Plumbing, Pipe fitting, Business Studies in addition to  such general subjects as Mathematics, English, Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Agricultural Science and Economics
