The Executive Chairman, Ukwuani local government, Ogbuefi Chukwudi Dafe has inaugurated 11-man Revenue Committee with a charge to exceed previous targets while following participatory rules and regulations on revenue generation.
Ogbuefi Chukwudi congratulated the members for being found worthy in character by the council to serve in the committee even as he encouraged them to justify their individual and collective inclusion
in the committee by surpassing the council’s expectations in the
monthly and annual targets that will be given to them.
The members of the Ukwuani Local Government Revenue Committee as
inaugurated includes; Mr Ozomah Victor (Chairman), Mr Osiebe Richard (Secretary), Mr Adams Onwumah, Mr Nwabuchi Ndukaku, Mr Lucky Chima, and Mr Alade Idea.
Others are: Mr Darlington Opone, Comr. Marvin Ogbuta, Comr. Mikpoyibo Fredrick, Comr. Njuwe Alex and Mr. Onyenenuwe Jerry.
While inaugurating the committee, the chairman explained to them that their work remain subject to all the rules and regulations governing
the service and participatory laws and rules on revenue generation.
He also stated that the committee is independent but that their
channels of communication with the council shall be through the
Treasurer to the Local Government (TLG), Head of Personnel Management (HPM) and the Chairman of the council.
The council boss however warned that no member of the committee is
allowed to handle Revenue Receipts except designated and bonded
revenue officers amongst them.
The chairman therefore tasked them to work together as a team and surpass any target that may be given to them as they will be evaluated monthly and annually based on their performance.
Responding, the chairman of the committee thanked the council for
giving them the opportunity to contribute their quota to the overall
development of the local government adding that the revenue committee will not fail the council in the discharge of their duties.
