Delta State Government has express appreciation to members of the Delta Online Publishers Forum (DOPF)for their cooperation just as it also promised them a robust relationship going forward.

This commendation was made by Mr. Felix Ofou, Executive Assistant to the Governor on New Media when he played host to a delegation of the Delta Online Publishers Forum, (DOPF) led by the Chairman, Mr Emmanuel Enebeli.

Mr. Ofou noted that members of the Forum had consistently been publishing the activities of government over the years at their own cost, even in the current hard times, he assured them that their partnership with Government would not be taken for granted.

Mr. Ofou said that the importance of online news platforms could not be over-emphasized, he described the Online Publishers as critical stakeholders in the New media space, pointing out that they had used their vast experience and integrity to manage information on government activities without resorting to Yellow Journalism.

The Executive Assistant (EA) to the Governor on New Media urged the publishers to always liaise with his office whenever there were issues to be clarified before going to press and pledged that they would be carried along by the Rt. Hon. Sheriff Oborevwori’s administration in the scheme of things.

Earlier in an address, Mr. Emmanuel Enebeli, Chairman of DOPF said that the visit was to congratulate Mr. Ofou on his appointment, which he noted would undoubtedly give the New Media in the state a boost.

Mr. Enebeli commended the Oborevwori administration for the infrastructural development it had so far initiated, especially in the Warri/Effurun axis and environs of the state, he called on the Governor to act on the Agbor-Umutu,-Obiaruku-Abraka-Eku road to make it motorable with a view to boost economic activities in the state.

The DOPF Chairman said that members of the group deserved a better deal in view of their sacrifices in running government reports on a daily basis, he solicited the cooperation of the Executive Assistant that regard.
