A chieftain of Advance Congress for Democrat, Hon. Johnbull Okoro has congratulated the newly elected Nigeria Union of Journalist, Chairman for Warri Correspondent Chapel, Comr. Akpokona Omafuaire of the Vanguard newspaper.

This was contained in a congratulatory. message made available to newsmen duly signed by himself. He described Comr. Akpokona as a veteran journalist with passion who have nose for news with good leadership qualities.

Hon. Johnbull Okoro who is the State Chairman of Advance Congress for Democrat, however urged all opposition candidates during the election to work with the Akpokona led administration even as he sued for unity among all members of the Warri NUJ Chapel in order to move the Chapel forward.

On his part, Comr. Akpokona expressed happiness over his emergence as the chairman of the Chapel, describing it as a call to serve his people and to contribute his quota to the development of the in particular and that of the general society at large just as he emphasized leadership is all about commitment in projecting the plight of the people before government and the ability to carry along all concerned members of the Union, while promising to bring about transparency in his leadership assuring the people never to betray the confidence reposed on him.

Meanwhile, Comr. Akpokona Omafuaire has served as secretary during past administration till his election as chairman.

Other members elected alongside Comr Akpokona are; Mr. Otu Dennis, vice chairman. Comrade Joe Ogbodu, secretary and Mrs. Betty  Idialu, treasurer among others.
