All Progressives Congress (APC) Gubernatorial candidate in Delta State for the 2015 elections, Olorogun O’tega Emerhor was at the first class royal palace of the OLU OF WARRI, to seek the royal blessings of His Royal Majesty, Ogiame Atuwatse 11 (CON). The event turned out to be a mini-festival as bubbling Itsekiri sons and daughters stormed the royal palace to express their ultimate desired for the CHANGE that is unfolding through the APC party in the State.

The royal dome was filled to capacity. Itsekiri chiefs were at their best, decked in their symbolic white-traditional dresses with far below the kneels expensive royal and traditional beeds. The atmosphere was colourful, smiles adorned the faces of all and sundry as they exchanged pleasantries while waiting to be ushered into the royal present of one of the world most famous traditional ruler, HRM Ogiame Atuwatse 11, The Olu of Warri.

The APC governorship candidate said the Itsekiri people of Delta South Senatorial District are unique in many ways and that any politician who do not recognize their political relevance and strength may not stand the best of time in partisan politics in Delta State.

He assured the King, his chiefs and the good people of Itsekiri Nation that if elected governor in 2015, he will open up rural and riverine economic activities through standard road and waterways transportation, provision of zero percent soft loans to fisher men and women, artisans, market women, petty traders and other categories of small scale entrepreneurs that desire to expand their businesses.

Olorogun Emerhor told the Warri Monarch that the people of Delta State are groaning, in pains and tears occasioned by acute poverty, joblessness, massive corruption and lack of political will power to do the needful so as to bring substantial dividend of democracy to the people.

He further asserted that the nearly sixteen years of misrule in the state has hardened the hearts and minds of our youth who no longer believe that honesty and hard-work are essential integral part of orderly and progressive society, adding that the APC being an alternative party is committed to re-introduce core social values through good governance and leadership by example.

He said APC is not an opposition political party but an ALTERNATIVE party with large membership across the country. He posited that it will be a miscalculation for any body to think that the answers to the numerous problems of Nigeria can be solved by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) after sixteen years of misrule, provocative high level corruption and lack of political will power to take our state and country to the realm of socio-economic prosperity.

The Delta State APC governorship candidate who is world class corporate board room and financial expert, disclosed that the Itsekiri nation is a major stakeholder in the project Delta and Nigeria hence it will be absolutely impossible for any gubernatorial candidate to win an election without the the support and friendship of its people. He thanked the royal father for granting him audience and asked for his royal blessings so as to enable him become victorious during the forthcoming gubernatorial elections in Delta State.

In his response, HRM Ogiame Atuwatse 11 said it was a good thing that Olorogun O’tega Emerhor came to seek his blessing even though he (HRM) is not a politician and does not participate in partisan politics. He noted that the APC gubernatorial candidate was able to articulate his lofty socio-economic redemption plans for the state and as such encouraged him not to disappoint the people especially the Itsekiri nation if he eventually emerged as governor of Delta State in 2015.

His Royal Majesty advised Olorogun Emerhor to partner extensively with God so that his well-professed wishes for Deltans will come to fruition without blemish if he eventually emerged winner of the 2015 governorship election, pointing out that whatever touches a son or daughter of Itsekiri touches him and as such Olorogun Emerhor should of a necessity thread carefully while partnering with Itsekiri politicians in the new political dispensation.

The royal father then gave his blessings and prayed God to give the APC gubernatorial candidate the strength and wisdom to work very hard to bring CHANGE and economic prosperity to Deltans when he eventually becomes governor of the state.
