Targema Takema, the secretary to the Benue state government (SSG), has reportedly collapsed and has been rushed to the Benue State University Teaching Hospital, in Makurdi, the state capital.

Premium Times reports that Targema collapsed at his residence on Thursday, June 9.

According to a source familiar with the development, the secretary to the state government slipped into coma.

It would be noted that Targema is one of the most powerful officials in the administration of Governor Samuel Ortom, who is yet to comment on the incident.

Targema was sworn in as the SSG on June 2 , 2015.

Before then, he was the interim chairman of the All Progressive Congress in Benue state.

During the build-up to the 2015 gubernatorial elections in the state, he was appointed secretary of the Ortom-Abounu Governorship Campaign Organization. His hard work paid off as the duo won the elections convincingly.
