Arewa Group honours New Registrar of PTI

The Arewa Staff Association of the Petroleum Training Institute (PTI), Effurun on Sunday honoured the new Registrar and Secretary to the Governing Council of the institution, Alhaji Abubakar Sadiq Tanimu with an award of excellence, describing his appointment as a well deserved one.
The Chairman of the PTI Arewa Staff Association, Alhaji Aliyu Adamu who spoke to journalist during the occasion of the reception ceremony held in honour of the new registrar by the association, described Alhaji Taminu as a humble and dedicate person who has worked tirelessly for the institution.
Alhaji Adamu who is also the Director of Media, PTI, noted that Alhaji Tanimu’s appointment as the Registrar of the PTI was long overdue, stressing that the successes of all the past five Principals could be credited to Alhaji Taminu.
He said, “When we heard of his upliftment and being the son of Arewa, we were very glad and we felt that we need to honour and appreciate him for all he has done. It is not only the Arewa people but also the entire institution and the country in general that he has contributed to. He is a rare gem.”
Also speaking at the occasion, the Commander, 371 Nigeria Detachment Air force Warri, Air Commodore Sani Abdulahi Zakari, described the new Registrar of PTI as a good man and a gentle man, who is also a marvelous team player and a great teacher.
He urged all staff of PTI to emulate the good example of Alhaji Tanimu, saying that the new registrar has come a long way and deserved to be honoured by not only the Arewa people, but also Nigerians as well.
Comdr. Zakari said, “They have to follow the footsteps of their boss. From the recitation of the man, you will see that he has worked in so many places before he came to where he is today. He came here and worked and today he is heading the registry. What made him get to that position? It is his perseverance, patient, knowledge and above all his humility that brought him this far.”
Until the appointment of Alhaji Tanimu as the new Registrar of PTI, he was the Head, Human Resources Development Department, PTI.
Alhaji Tanimu is a former student union activist, an accomplished journalist, a seasoned and meticulous administration, a focus technocrat, a charismatic and passionate achiever, a man of high integrity, a hardworking and dedicated manager, a committed disciplinarian, an erudite writer of repute and a detribalized personality whose spectrum of friendship cuts across religious affiliation and regional boundaries.
