AHEAD of the general elections, members of Senator Aguariavwodo Political Family (APF) in Delta State Central Senatorial District have intensified their campaign in the riverine communities for President Goodluck Jonathan, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa and other candidates of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in the forth coming polls.

Our Correspondent reports that members of the APF determined to secure victory for President Jonathan, Senator Okowa and other candidates of the PDP embarked on community to community and door to door campaign and had so far taken their campaign to Osusu-Urhie, Omosomo, Oyan, Gbaregolor, Ofrukama and other riverine communities in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta State.

While addressing residents of the riverine communities so far visited, Chief Vincent Otidi, former Chairman of Ughelli South and Chief Malachi Orode, a Chieftain of PDP in the area, they harped on the need for people of the local government to vote massively for all PDP candidates in the March 28 and April 11, 2015 polls.

Listing some of the achievements of the PDP led government at the Federal and State levels to include massive construction of roads/bridges, transformation of Airports, revolution in the agricultural sector, education, health, empowerment and host of others, the duo said “This is why we are calling on our people to vote massively for President Goodluck Jonathan comes Saturday, March 28, 2015 and Senator Okowa for Governor comes Saturday, April 11, 2015 as well as all PDP candidates in the polls.

They described Senator Okowa as the best man for the job in Delta State and implored the people to vote him into power.

While recalling the long time relationship and support that the Ika people have given to Urhobo since the days of Mariere as Governor, they assured the people that Senator Dr. Okowa has been a friend of the Urhobos over the years and has displayed several good qualities that attracted members of APF to his candidature, urging Urhobos to reciprocate the good gesture of the Ika people and Senator Dr. Okowa and sued for the full support of the Urhobos for the PDP.

In a media chat with Chief Moses Orhokpor (aka Olomuman) and the Media/Publicity anchorman for APF, Mr. Kingsley Okoro, they held that Urhobo cannot afford to be in opposition pointing out that within the shortest time that Urhobos in Delta Central decided to turn to the ruling Party by electing Senator Aguariavwodo of the PDP as a Senator, it yielded fruit by way of a Ministerial appointment for Urhobo Nation without much struggle and agitation.

They appealed to the riverine communities’ residents to vote enmass for the PDP from the Presidential to Senate, House of Representatives comes March 28 as well as the Governorship and State House of Assembly on April 11, 2015.

Responding at the different riverine communities, Mr. Odjoma, Mr. John Onovwe, Mr. Andrew Atevu, Mr. Collins Ehare and others told the APF that the Group can count on their support.

They added that the riverine communities should not be forgotten and neglected in the sharing of the State resources by way of development and projects after the election.
