The Senator representing Delta Central in the red chamber, Senator Emmanuel Edesiri Aguariavwodo, has charged youths across the nation to shun cultism, gangsterism, hooliganism and embrace peace.

Aguariavwodo gave this charge recently during a family thanksgiving service organized to mark his mother’s 82 birthday celebration at his home town of Okpara Olomu in Ughelli South Local Government Area of Delta state.

According to him “the federal government is doing all it can daily to combat crime and ensuring secured environment for the people’s day to day activities but there so much they can do without help from the home front, and this is where the mothers come in because mothers have a higher role to play in the upbringing of any child more than the father. They are saddled with the responsibility of shaping the life of any child from birth.

“I had the best upbringing thanks to my mother. My mother is a very good woman, hardworking, caring, warm, lovely, open, a good listener and a devout Christian who has served God faithfully in the Africa Church of Nigeria here in Okpare Olomu. She worked tirelessly from dusk till dawn to meet the basic and essential needs of her immediate and extended family. I count it a great privilege to be called her son and I want to say a big thank you to her for taking good care of us for the past 82 years and we pray that God will add more years to her years.

Aguariavwodo however assured that he would continue to perform his constitutional duties to the people till the end of his tenure. Amongst those that graced the occasion were former council Chairman of Ughelli South LGA, Hon. Josephine Oduaran, Ughelli South and North Coordinators for Okowa, Hon. Itiwhe and Hon. Pius .O.C Ovbije respectively and others.
