After the AIG addressed the various political parties in attendance, the representative of the All Progressives Congress (APC), Tonye Okio, in his response, accused the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) of rigging elections and also accused the members of the Bayelsa State
Police Command of supporting the ruling party.

He also accused members of the Bayelsa Police Command of helping the PDP to rig elections.
Mr. Tonye Okio also asked the AIG to warn his men against taking sides with the ruling party, adding that everybody knows that the PDP is the ruling party while the APC is the credible opposition party in the country.

This report about the PDP and members of the Bayelsa State Police Command involved in rigging before AIG Hashimu Salihu MNI, spurred anger in the hearts of the representatives of the various political parties that were present as the APC was captured a liar and mischief maker.

The Secretary of the Bayelsa chapter of the PDP, Mr. Godpower Keku, in his part, replied the APC of false allegations that APC has never been to the polls.

Mr. Godpower Keku asked if it was right for a party which has never participated in elections to accuse another party of rigging that the APC should be mindful of words that may cause is chief within the state.

He added that the PDP is the most Democratic Party in Nigeria that they have proved it to Nigerians in all the sectors in the nation.

He highlighted some of the achievements which the country has witnessed under the leadership of the PDP in the railway, aviation, and education sectors adding more would still be achieved.

He further stated that the APC does not have the capacity to oust the ruling PDP, that a government can only be ousted if it is not working in accordance to the people’s needs.
