At least 5000 persons from Isoko North local government council and other neighbouring local government across Delta State are to benefit from the free medical treatment organized by the Chairman of Isoko North local government council, Hon Emmanuel Egbabor in collaboration with the Yes Advocacy Team and Healing Hand Health Society medical team to commemorate the 2018 World Health Day.

The free medical treatment which was flagged off by the Delta State Governor, Sen. Dr Ifeanyi Okowa, was held at Isoko North Local government Council Secretariat playground and is targeted to rendered all medical service like  major and minor surgical operations, medical investigations and treatments, eye care (surgeries and distribution of free glasses) among others.

While flagging off of the programme,  the Delta state Governor Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa who was represented by the State Commissioner for Health, Dr. Mordi Onoye, commended the Chairman of Isoko North local government council, Hon Emmanuel Egbabor for his commitment towards delivery of quality health care services to his people.

He rated  “Isoko North local government council as one of the first among the 25 local government council across the state that is committed to delivery of quality health care services to his people, positing that, ” What Hon Emmanuel Egbabor is doing is in line with the agenda of the State Governor of providing quality health care services to Deltans.

“I must commend you for all you have done to the people of your local government and I must say here that His Excellency, the State Governor, Sen. Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa is indeed pleased with all you have done for your people. Because of your commitment towards delivery of quality health care services to your people, the state Governor has sent his words that the renovation of Owhelogbo and Ozoro Central hospital will soon receive attention to enable prompt delivery of health services to the people of Isoko North.

“The state Government is supporting 20 widows from each ward across the 25 local government in Delta state for the Delta State Health Insurance Scheme. The state government Health Insurance scheme is affordable to all Deltans and I urge you all to take part in the programme so as to reduce killer diseases among Deltans. ”

Earlier on the Chairman of Isoko North local government council, Hon Emmanuel Egbabor in his speech stated that, the health of men, women, children, the aged and adolescents is one of the most prominent and pressing agenda of his administration.

According to Hon Egbabor: “Our gathering here over the next five days is to see how far we could go in delivering free health services for the benefit of our people. I must applaud the members of Yes Advocacy and Healing Hand Health Society led by Comrade Edafe Ekoko for collaborating with the Council to organized this programme.

” The beneficiaries of these programme cut across the local government area and beyond and I must also inform you that we were the first local government council in the state to have sponsored the flag-off of Pneumococal Conjugate Vaccine (PCV 10) programme for children in which over 200 children were vaccinated during the flag-off.

“This time around, we have a target of 5000 people to attend to in the next five days of this free health programme. The major focus of the free health week is on those requiring surgeries. I therefore call on all to take advantage of this free health programme to sort out their health needs.”

On his part, the President General of Isoko Development Union (IDU) High Chief Iduh Amadhe commended Hon Emmanuel Egbabor for his commitment towards delivery quality health care services to his people as well as the state Governor for his commitment towards the development of the health sector in the state, stressing that, “We the Isoko people are indeed grateful over the news of the renovation of Ozoro and Owhelogbo Central Hospital.”
