Ogiame Ikenwoli, the Olu of Warri.

The Monarch of Warri Kingdom, Ogiame Ikenwoli, has called on Deltans to coexist peacefuly with one another irrespective of their tribal, religion, or political differences.

The Warri monarch made this call yesterday at his palace in Warri during the conferrement of chieftaincy titles on five prominent individuals of Iwere kingdom.

Ogiame Ikenwoli who spoke after conferring the chieftaincy titles on the five, said that despite the ethnic, religious, or political affiliation of Deltans, “we are all one.”

He said his reign will bring about unity amongst all the ethnic groups in the state, adding that only peace and unity will bring development to the state.

He said, “I have come to bring development to Iwere land and not to fight anybody. When I became the king of this kingdom, the first thing i did was to ask anybody who has a pending court case against anybody in the kingdom to withdraw them.”

On the unwholesome activities of some youths in the kingdom who go about harassing investors with various levies, the Olu warned them to desist from such activities as they were driving away investors from the kingdom.

He said henceforth no youth body should go about harrasing investors who have come to develop the kingdom stressing that without investors coming to the kingdom to invest, development will elude the kingdom.

Conferring the chieftaincy titles on the five, the monarch urged them to always put the interest of their people first before their own and render selfless service to the kingdom.

He also said that he was very happy about the way the people of the kingdom accepted those selected for the chieftaincy titles, noting that the acceptance has shown that his effort in the selection process was not in vain.

He assured his subjects that he will not do anything that will jeopardize the integrity of the kingdom and that he is poised to be diligent in the selection of key chieftaincy titles that are very important to the kingdom.

Ogiame Ikenwoli also told the mammoth crowd that came to witness the occasion that a glo mast has been installed in the remote villages of Obodo and Omadino communities who before now were cut off from the rest of the world.

The Warri monarch also took a swipe at some individuals who go on social media to speak ill about the kingdom, warning that he will be forced to place a curse on them if they refuse to change.

Those confered with chieftaincy titles at the colorful ceremony are; Mr. Eyitomi Author Diden, Prof. (Mrs.) Grace Alele Williams, Mr. Omolubi Newuwumi, Mr. Mercy Olowo, and Pa. Akoma Duduweiyin.
