The Urhukpe R’Urhobo Forum, a socio-political pressure group in Delta State has expressed dismay and disappointment over the constitution of Federal government boards of Parastatals and Agencies, describing the outcome as gross disservice and injustice to the Urhobo nation.

In a press statement signed by National Coordinators of the group, Barr Tony Ejoh and Chief Abel Idigu, the group noted that with the appointment of only Sir Emmanuel Aguariavwodo from Delta central as Chairman of ‘’a most nondescript and irrelevant board is a political assault on the collective psyche of the Urhobo people’’.

The group therefore urged the Urhobo people to “withdraw its massive support for President Goodluck Jonathan as it is obvious that Mr. President does not want our progress and intends to perpetually leave our people in the political doldrums. It is obvious from the list that we have lost political relevance in the Peoples Democratic Party-led Federal Government’’, the group added.

Continuing, the group said, “Is it not possible for an Urhobo man to be Chairman of a choice and lucrative Federal board like NEPZA, NESREA, UBE, NIWA? Are the Urhobos lacking competent and qualified sons and daughters who can contribute to the good governance of this Country?”

The group added that if the injustice and marginalization of the Urhobo as reflected in the recent appointments is not redressed immediately, Mr. President should forget about the support of Urhobo in 2015.
