Governor Uduaghan who stated this at the weekend in Sapele while addressing traders after inspecting the on-going construction work at the  Sapele Main Market said that the state government was determined to complete all ongoing projects meant to enhance the  business and investment environment of the state and improve the economy stating that the construction work at the Sapele main market which has reached an advanced stage  would be stepped up so as to complete it soonest and  lessen the burden faced by  the traders.

While urging the traders to be patient and maintain peace in the market, he appealed to them to evacuate the major road to the market to enable rehabilitation work to continue disclosing that the arrangements have been concluded for the allocation of the already completed 960 stalls in the market to the traders pending the completion of the project.

Governor Uduaghan emphasised that those who previously had stalls in the burnt market would be given priority in the allocation process adding that party affiliation or tribe would not be criterion for the allocation of the stalls.

While responding to the concern of the traders on the interference of middlemen in the allocation process, the governor advised the traders to organise themselves and contact the relevant authority on the allocation process.

One of the traders, Mrs. Mary Ariyo commended Governor Uduaghan for the construction of the market stating that the market when completed would alleviate the hardship the traders face in carrying out their business.

Chief Paulinus Akpeki, Commissioner for Housing, who conducted the governor round the market said that the market has one thousand, five hundred and twenty locked-up and open stalls with nine hundred and sixty completed.

He commended Dr Uduaghan for expanding the market to meet the needs of the traders.
