Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr Michael Tidi on Tuesday Inaugurated Supervisors for Warri South Council.

The chairman had last month dissolved his cabinet in line with the Council’s desire to re-energize the machinery of government and bring new impetus into service delivery.

Two of the newly inaugurated Supervisors, Mr. Sunny Bodor and Mr. Sunny Omene Mabiaku were part of the exco that was dissolved last month.

There are three new faces among the Supervisors inaugurated at the Warri South Council Main Secretariat in Warri.

Those sworn in alongside their portfolios are; Mr. Omawumi Elete, (Environment) Mr. Sunny Bodor, (Health) Mr. Sunny Omene Mabiaku, (Community Development, Information, Youths, Sports and Culture) Mr. Richard Onovughakpo Onojeghwo, (Education) and Chief Butler Igbigbi, (Agriculture).

Tidi who spoke shortly after the swearingin charged the new supervisors to bring in new innovations that will further bring development to the council.

Tidi said “”I didn’t just do the appointments on my own. I consulted political leaders and others. Environment is critical to this administration. Warri South is relatively clean, but we can do better.

“Governance must not take the back seat, because of politicking. Come up with innovative ideas that will develop the council.

He added that the council cannot be seen to be failing the youths, stressing that the youths must be pointed in the right direction.

“The youths cannot continue to be in the beer parlor insulting political leaders. We must engaged the youths meaningfully. We must point the youths in the right direction,” Tidi said.

He further said that the Warri South Executive is working tirelessly with the civil servants to bring about the needed development to the council.

According to Tidi, “History has been made today because this is the first time an Exco is being dissolved in this council and young energetic hands are being included in the Exco.

He thanked the Warri South Legislative Arm for the speedy screening of the supervisors.

“I want to thank the Warri South Legislative Arm for not listening to the enemies of this council,” Tidi said.

Responding on behalf of the new supervisors, Mr Omawumi Elete, an Environmentalist and the new Supervisor for Environment, thanked the council chairman for giving them the opportunity to serve in his administration, assuring him if their loyalty and commitment to work diligently.

Those present at the swearing in ceremony include; Leader of Warri South Legislative Arm, Rt. Hon. Sylvester Ijabor, Warri South PDP Chairman, Mr. Johnson Agbeyegbe and other party chieftains as well as Management Staff of Warri South Local Government Council.
