Dr Michael Tidi, Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, on Tuesday congratulated College of Commerce Warri, winners of the 2021 edition of the Delta State Secondary School Football Competition sponsored by Zenith Bank.

College of Commerce Warri, who are the defending champions, defeated Osa Dennis High School Asaba through penalties to emerge winners of the 2021 champions once again.

Tidi in a statement by his Special Assistant on Media, Mr Francis Sadhere, said College of Commerce Warri, has brought honour to the council by bringing the Principal’s cup to the council for the second time.

He commended the management and staff of College of Commerce Warri for the victory, saying that this shows that Warri has a lot of talents who can make the council and the state proud.

“I want to congratulate College of Commerce, Warri for making our council proud. This victory has shown that Warri is still number one in sports in the state.

“I want to say a big congratulation to College of Commerce, Warri for winning the cup for the second time.

“I also want to thank His Excellency, Dr Ifeanyi Okowa for reinventing this competition which started during the time of late Samuel Ogbemudua as the Governor of Bendel State.

“I also want to commend Zenith Bank for sustaining the sponsorship of this tournament,” Tidi said.
