The Nigeria Voters Assembly, has honoured the Chairman of Warri South council area, Dr Michael Tidi, with an excellence award for his selfless services towards Youths Development in the council and beyond.

The Award was presented to the Warri South Council Chairman at the Council’s secretariat by the Coordinator of the group, Mr Eburu Emuaghogho, who led other members of the group on a courtesy visit to the chairman.

Presenting the award to Tidi, Emuaghogho said that as a young political group saddled with the responsibility of enlightening young Nigerians to be involved in politics, the “Nigerian Youth Assembly has carefully followed activities of the Warri South Council boss as he continues to champions the fight for youth development in Warri South Council and beyond.

“The Nigerian Voters Assembly is a
young political group dedicated to encouraging young people in the country to be involved in politics.

“So far we have about 618 persons who have registered and have their voters cards. We move from one pulling units to the other and try to encourage young people to get themselves registered.

“Our membership cuts across all the 36 States of the country. Our target is to register more members with voters cards,” Emuaghogho said.

Emuaghogho added that one reasons they decided to pay the chairman a courtesy visit was also to seek his support to enable them achieve their desired target.

Responding, Tidi thanked them for the award saying that the award was one of several awards he had been privileged to have accepted.

“I do not take this award for granted as it nourished my spirit to continue to fight for the development of the youths in this country.

“Some of us left our jobs to go into politics. I decided not be the type that will be complaining. This is why I joined politics to make a difference.

“Our youths today must be involved in politics because of they don’t, the policy makers in this country, who consist of older people, will not favour the youths.

“I know that a lot of youths think that their votes don’t count. But let me tell you that their votes does count.

“As youths if we do not get involve in politics we will be the ones to lose at the end of the day,” Tidi said.
