Teachers without borders (TWB) a non-governmental international organization aimed at bridging the educational divides in Bayelsa State and the world in general has imparted positively in manpower development through its various programs, says the Bayelsa State coordinator, Teachers Without Borders, Hon. Philip Jeremiah Eke.

Eke said this while addressing cross section of selected youths in Ogbia Local Government Area during a free computer training program organized by Teachers Without Borders for the people of the area.

Eke further revealed that the program was a yearly program and that it was in turn of Ogbia Local Government Area where no fewer than one hundred and twenty youths were billed to train in computer mastery, stressing that the world is now a global village where the teaming youths needed to be ICT compliance to cater for their daily encounters.

The state coordinator further said that the basic fundamentals of computer appreciation such as Micro-Soft Words, Excel, Power Point, Internet, Coral Draw among others would be taught to beneficiaries.

He tasked the selected beneficiaries to use the golden opportunity to improve their living standards, maintaining it would be the turn of Yenagoa Local Government Area next year.

Eke, while appreciating the Nigeria/ Africa regional Coordinator TWB Dr. Rapheal Oko, for his great efforts in bridging the educational divides in Nigeria and Africa in general, described the Dr. Oko as a resolute, pragmatic man with creativity, noting that the Bayelsa wing of Teachers without Borders would soon organize Teachers summit in Yenagoa.

Eke, who is also the Bayelsa State co-ordinator computers-in-schools project (CISP), appealed to  Bayelsa State Government to make computer education compulsory in primary/secondary schools in Bayelsa State, noting that making it compulsory would solve the challenges of curbing the problem of JAMB computer Based Examination and other critical issues in the society.

The TWB State Coordinator , said that TWB is partnering with the ministry of Education Bayelsa state , Nigeria Youth Service corps (NYSC), UNIVERSAL Basic Education BOARD Bayelsa State, Nigeria Union Of Journalists Bayelsa. Other viable partnership organigation include, Yenagoa local government Education Authority, NIPOST Bayelsa state, among others.
