Oza-Nogogo in Ika South Local Government Area of Delta State went agog recently during the official commissioning of the 6.5 Kilometre Oza-Nogogo Road constructed by the Okowa administration.

Their joy knew no bounds for obvious reasons, the road has been dilapidated for several decades and for the timely fulfillment of the governor’s electioneering campaign which has rekindled the peoples confidence in his leadership and good governance initiatives.

It is also safe to assert that Okowa is an indigene of Oza-Nogogo by birth, part of the reasons he took it upon himself to ensure that the age long yearnings of his people was met.

Speaking on the project, Mr. Hilary Ibegbulem, Principal Secretary to the Governor said that he had been glued to Gov Okowa for decades because of his hunger for impacting lives, serving mankind and living a low profile kind of life style so as to remain glued to the people from top to bottom.

According to  Mr. Ibegbulem, “His Excellency was actually born here and I am deeply filled with overflowing joy for the fact that he deemed it necessary to revert to his place of birth to put smiles on their faces. I am particularly happy because when you have a boss that is doing the right things, impacting lives and touching the hearts of many in positive ways, you get inspired and excited. The Ekueme as we fondly call His Excellency is a perfect gentleman, God fearing christian and a father, leader, brother and a political shepherd to those of us who made ourselves available to be tutored politically and in strong leadership skills under his tutelage.

Mr. Ibegbulem further added,  “it follows that today my joy, our joy and the joy of the good people of Oza-Nogogo has been multiplied through the construction and commissioning of this 6.5 kilometre road which will now facilitate human and vehicular movement, transportation of goods and services within and outside Ika South and the rest of Delta State.”

Also speaking on the project, Dr. Fred Oghenesivbe, Executive Assistant to the Governor on Communications said what makes a man or a good leader is not the quantum of money you were able to hide under the “soak away pits” or your large appetite for flambouyant lifestyle, adding, ” legacy is all about the lives that you impacted when you had the opportunity to do so and that is exactly the focus of the governor. Dr. Okowa is a fantastic leader with a clear vision and God’s mandate to rebuild Delta State and bring back the good old days of absolute unity, peace and love across the three senatorial districts which was yanked along the line due to petty ethnic bigotry by some self centered and crooked politicians.”

He noted, “the people of Oza-Nogogo came from far and near, decked in traditional Oza attires, dancing and singing praises to God for the day Gov Okowa was born in Oza-Nogogo land. Their joy could be felt in one’s bone marrows. They brought all kinds of gifts to appreciate the governor who they repeatedly referred to as their son, friend, brother and leader. I was deeply moved with some measure of emotions laced with thanks to God for enlisting me as one of the new members of the progressive Okowability Smart Family.”
