2019: APC will take over power from PDP in Delta, says Kachikwu

Minister of Petroleum (State) Dr Ibe Kachikwu on Friday said the Delta State chapter of the All Progressives Party (APC) will take over the reign of power from the People’s Democratic Party, PDP come 2019 election.
The minister who spoke at the official inauguration of the Delta APC standing committees also called on the leaders and party faithful to work together in unity to ensure that APC wins the 2019 election.
He also called on the members of the party to work with the State chairman of the party, Prophet Jones Erue, stressing that it was high time members put the in-house crisis that rocked the party in the last few years behind them.
“The purpose of this gathering is to deliver on the mandate of the party at the national level. We want to make sure that APC produces the next governor of Delta State,” Kachikwu said.
On his part, the Delta State APC chairman, Prophet Jones Erue, appealed to members of the party to forgive him for his past mistakes, promising to work for the party with the last drop of his blood.
Erueh added that the party has experienced to many crisis in the past few years noting that now that the party has decided to come together as one family it will ever remain stronger to fight the ruling party in the state.
He called on party faithful to go back to their various units, wards and local government to mobillize members for the party.
He revealed that the party has a master plan for recovery given the fact that the party has the support of the petroleum Minister.
The APC National Vice Chairman South South, Chief Hilliard Ettah urged members of the party to work as one United family and take the party to the next level.
While saying that he was happy that there is peace in the party in Delta State, Ettah urged them to ensure that the peace is sustained.
He reiterated that the joy of setting up the various committees was that it serves as a consolidation of peace and progress within the party.
On his part, Olorgun O’tega Emerhor noted that with the inauguration of the various committees, the party is now set to take over power from the PDP come 2019.
