Warri Wolves defeated MK Etancheite 2-1 in the 2015 Caf Confederation Cup second round, first leg match played in Warri on Saturday afternoon.

Coach Paul Aigbogun of Warri Wolves speaking to journalist at the Warri City Stadium afte the match

A goal in each half of the encounter saw the hosts grab a slim win against their Congolese opponents.

A brace from Gbolahan Salami were all the Seasiders needed to edge past the visitors who go into the second leg with a bright chance of making it to the next stage of the competition.

Gbolahan Salami scored a brace to give Paul Aigbogun’s side a slim advantage going into the second leg in Kinshasa.

Paul Aigbogun’s men who were mandated by Governor Uduaghan to soar against their Congolese opponents began the game on a bright note but could make good use of their opportunities as the match goes on.

The Nigerians failed to bury several scoring opportunities that came their way as the visitors looked contented with their defensive approach brought to the game.

Salami doubled the lead with less than 18 minutes to the end of the game but his side went to sleep as the Congo based outfit got an away goal as the game drew to a close.

Lwamba saw a weakness and he capitalized on it to ensure Nigeria’s only surviving representatives in the season’s CAF Club competitions embark a journey of trepidation when in a fortnight they head for Stade des Martyrs in Kinshasa.
