With the final pronouncement on the Delta State Gubernatorial election matter by the Nigerian Supreme Court, which affirmed the supposed election of Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa, let it be reiterated here that Great Ovedje Ogboru did not lose any governorship election. The said governorship election, was lost by all Deltans who have consciously put themselves to be governed by irresponsible politicians that are bereft of vision and people-oriented goals.

Regardless of what is now the final outcome of the said election petition matter, Ogboru will remain a major factor in the State’s political history and democracy, no matter what. Great Ogboru will remain a household name in Delta State politics. He is more popular and respected than any Delta State politician.

In my own opinion, no past and present Governor is greater than Ogboru. Even if you add them up, he is still greater. Socrates did not rule any part of the ancient Greece, but he still well known, and his impact has continued to outlive him. That is how men with impeccable virtue and integrity are remembered by history. Ogboru is one of such men, and the greatest Deltan in this era.

Though, I am not surprised with the Supreme Court’s judgement, because many who had climbed on the back of Ogboru as the ladder to the top, had abandoned the ladder when they got there. Such is life, and it is well.
