Dr Michael Tidi

* Warns against hasty conclusions

The Executive of Warri South Local Government Council in Delta State, has called on members of the public, particularly residents of Warri to desist from sensational stories that are capable of igniting avoidable strife.

The Council in a statement made available to newsmen today, Wednesday April 21,,empathized with the Erubore family over the unfortunate death of their son, Mr. Peter Erubore, as a result of the attack yesterday and noted that preliminary investigations by security sources, revealed that one of those abducted by the gunmen, Mr. Tunde Ekedie, owns a timber shade under the Omadino Bridge and is not an indigene of Omadino, an Itsekiri sprawling town.

The statement authorized by the Chairman of Warri South Local Government Area, Dr. Michael Tidi, urged law abiding people of Warri South, particularly newsmen to be wary of rumour of any disagreement between Ijaws and Itsekiris in the area, saying security personnel are on top of the situation to professionally deal decisively with criminal elements and rescue the two persons kidnapped.
