Olomu Kingdom Cracks Down on Cultism, Drug Abuse, Demands Immediate Renunciation

By Francis Sadhere, Delta

The Olomu Kingdom has imposed a sweeping ban on cult activities and illicit drug abuse, directing all those involved to renounce their ties immediately or face sanctions.

The directive came after an expanded meeting of community leaders convened by the Ohworode of Olomu Kingdom, HRM Dr. Albert Akpomudje, SAN, Eyavwien-Alaka I. The move is part of a renewed push to strengthen peace, security, and development across communities within the kingdom.

Describing cultism and drug abuse as serious threats to public safety, the monarch said both vices have fueled crime, violence, and social unrest, especially among youths. He stressed that the kingdom will no longer condone any conduct that jeopardizes its peace and unity.

HRM Akpomudje ordered all members of cult groups to withdraw from such associations at once and adopt lawful, productive ways of living. He also appealed to parents, guardians, community heads, and youth groups to join forces in identifying and discouraging behaviors that promote criminality and substance abuse.

The Ohworode called for stronger collaboration between security agencies, government authorities, and local stakeholders to enforce the ban and ensure violators face legal consequences. He urged residents to back the campaign by reporting suspicious activities and promoting values of peace, respect, and community growth.

Reaffirming his commitment to law and order, the monarch expressed confidence that the intensified campaign would create a safer environment and open up more social and economic opportunities for people across Olomu Kingdom.
