The Interim National Committee of the Okpe Union will on Sunday 16th May 2021 hold it’s 91st anniversary at its National Secretariat, Orerokpe, Delta State.

The President General of the Okpe Union,Prof. Emurobome Idolor disclosed this in a statement signed and made available to Journalists in Warri.

He urged all branches in their respective locale to celebrate the above mentioned date as “Okpe Day”.

Prof. Idolor said the apex sociocultural body of the Okpe people will hold a press briefing at its National Secretariat, Orerokpe in Delta State as well as pay a courtesy visit on His Royal Majesty, Orhue 1, CFR, mni, the Orodje of Okpe kingdom.

According to Prof. Idolor, “The security situation in the country is giving everyone a deep concern that we cannot be complacent and uninformed. In the light of the above, the Okpe Day celebration should be decisively done with caution.

“We want to thank His Excellency, Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthor Okowa for the Commissioning of the Oha bridge recently.

“Most especially is the hosting of all Southern governors and the twelve key resolutions from the summit.

“We also extend deep appreciation to His Royal Majesty, Orhue 1, the Orodje of Okpe kingdom, the Okpe Leaders of Thought and all stakeholders of Okpe Union through whom we have achieved reasoned feat.

“Thank you all very much. God bless the Orodje of Okpe kingdom; God bless the Okpe Union; God bless the Okpe kingdom; God bless Delta State; God bless the Federal Republic of Nigeria.”
