A member of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) and chairman of the Delta State Technical Education Board, Comrade Michael Akpobire, has resigned his appointment with the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa-led administration.

Akpobire, who was also an Executive Assistant (Technical Education) to Okowa, on Thursday announced his resignation in a letter addressed to the Secretary to the State Government, Chief Patrick Ukah.

Though Akpobire did give any reasons why he resigned, sources told our reporter in Warri that Akpobire might have resigned his membership of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) to enable him join the opposition All Progressives Congress (APC).

The former student leader thanked Governor Okowa for his appointment.

“Everything that has a beginning must have an end.My service to this Government as Executive Assistant (Technical Education) and chairman of the Technical Education Board has come to an end.

“I will henceforth deploy my potentials to more fulfilling enterprise/platforms. Thank you for finding me worthy to serve,” Akpobire said in the letter.
