The Delta State Governor Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa has tasked communities in the state on the need to maintain peace and partner with the government so as to attract the need development and dividends of democracy.

The Governor who spoke while playing host to the President of Isoko Development Union (IDU), High Chief Iduh Amadhe and other members of the union in his Office in Asaba the State capital, Senator Okowa said that his administration was committed to attracting investment that would be economically beneficial to the state.

Governor Okowa charged community leaders and stakeholders to ensure there is peace and conducive environment for investment to thrive in, adding that his administration is prepared to partner with investors and private sector to bring the needed development to the state.

“I believe that is the way to go but we need to encourage our people to ensure that we give an enabling environment to all companies working in the state and give peace a chance as this is the best way to generate job opportunities for our people and increase infrastructural development in the area”, Governor Okowa said.

While commending the Isoko nation for the huge amount of money invested on the development and accreditation process of the Law and Engineering faculties of the Delta State University, [DELSU] Oleh campus, the governor assured that government has put in all processes to see to the successful completion of the accreditation of the two faculties adding ” We are discussing on how the issue of the accreditation can be resolved and hope that we get it right so that the faculties will be accredited soonest.”

He lauded the Isoko nation for their support during the 2015 governorship elections and for drawing government attention to the needs of their area promising that his administration would be equitable, fair and just in the provision of infrastructural development to Deltans with available resources.

Earlier, the President General of IDU, Chief Iduh Amadhe, said that they were in Government House, Asaba to felicitate with Governor Okowa for his electoral  and judicial victories and the appointment of Isoko sons and daughters into positions , pledging the support of Isoko nation to the developmental strides of the administration.
