The governor who was full of praises to God Almighty for what he has done for him, said he held no grudges against his political foes, calling for peace and reconciliation of all.

He said, “We went into the election with our trust in God. When the court cases went to Supreme and was shifted to Abuja, a lot of people were calling me telling that they were worried. A lot of people thought that something would happen. But for us, we were confident throughout the court cases. In all these I ask for peace and reconciliation.”

Governor Okowa called on all those they might have offended during and after the elections to forgive them and join hands with the government of the state, stressing that the state will only progress when everybody work together.

While urging all Deltans to look up to God for help, Governor Okowa urged them to pray for those in government saying with their prayers they will move the state to an enviable height.

He urged all government officials in the state to be accountable to the people, saying that they are there to serve the people.

Governor Okowa, once again reiterated that every May 29 will be a day of prayer and worship through out the state.

The President of Christian Association of Nigeria (CAN), Pastor Ayo Oritsejafor in his sermon called in Nigerians to imbibe the spirit of forgiveness lamenting that there was too much animosity in the country.

Pastor Oritsejafor assured Nigerians that no matter how hard the economy of the country may seem to be, God will not abandon the country.

The CAN President said he was worried for the country because the country is full of arrogant people, saying, “there are too many arrogant people in Nigeria and this is one of the diseases plaguing the country.”
