Minority Leader, House of Representatives and Member Representing Isoko Federal Constituency, Hon Leo Ogor, has congratulated Hon. (Mrs) Orezi Esievo member representing Isoko South constituency 1, on her victory at the election petitions tribunal.

Orezi Esievo

The petition by Hon. Benjamin Okiemute of the All Progressives Congress (APC) seeking for the annulment of the declaration of Orezi Esievo of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as the winner of the Isoko South constituency 1 election by the Independent National Electoral Commission (INEC) was struck out and dismissed for lack of competence.

Hon Leo Ogor in a statement by his Press Secretary Akpodhoma Mike, described the verdict as not the victory of Orezi Esievo alone but that of the good people of the Isoko South constituency 1 and Isoko in general. He added that the ruling of the tribunal is a vindication for PDP and a vindication for democracy.

The Federal Lawmaker further described Hon. Orezi Esievo as the new face of Isoko woman at the State Assembly and a symbol of equity and justice for Isoko South constituency 1. He said that her victory is another feather to her cap and another crown of glory for her doggedness and resilience.

While using the occasion to congratulate all other candidates of the PDP who have emerged victorious in the tribunal, the Minority Leader said he is not in doubt that all the candidates will prove themselves as worthy ambassadors of their various constituencies both at the state assembly and National Assembly respectively.

The federal lawmaker further commended the leadership of PDP for remaining steadfast in the pursuit of justice through the rule of law. He noted that the victory in all the political struggles will be for the people and the masses whose will and aspiration have been upheld by the tribunal and upon whose mandate the candidates are serving in their various capacities.

He further appealed to those who lost at the electoral tribunals not to take the laws in their hands by resorting to violent demonstration as reaction to the tribunal rulings as this is capable of breaching the peace in the various constituencies. He advised them to always channel their grievances through the appropriate quarters which, in the circumstance, is a recourse to the appeal court.

Ogor in another statement also felicitated with the  immediate past Governor of Delta state, Dr. Emmanuel Eweta Uduaghan on the occasion of his 61st Birthday anniversary.

“On behalf of my family, and the good people of Isoko Federal constituency, I write to express warm felicitations to you on the landmark occasion of your 61st birthday anniversary.

“As you deservedly celebrate this glorious day, it is my prayer that Almighty God, who has richly prospered you and ordered your every step these past years, will continue to bless you with good health and fulfillment in the many more years of worthy service ahead of you.” He said

He said Uduaghan contributed immensely to the growth of democracy in the state in his career as a politician. He described him as a generational gift not only to his community and Delta  State but to the entire country which benefited from his visionary leadership.
