The twin problems of flood and bad road the Idjerhe people, Ethiope West LGA of Delta State, were said to be facing in recent times, will soon be a thing of the past as efforts are now being made by the state and local governments respectively to address them.

Rt. (Hon) Oyovwikigho Adegor, stated this while inspecting the ongoing work on opening of obstructed drainages in Jesse, the administrative headquarters of Idjerhe kingdom.

Hon Adegor, representing ward 6 in the area and leader of the Ethiope West Legislative Arm, lauded the Commissioner for Environment, Delta State, Chief (Barr) John Nani, for using his good office towards salvaging his Idjerhe people from flood danger assuring that Nani was also doing everything possible for the state government to rehabilitate the dilapidated dualized Jesse road soon.

The council lawmaker said he was also touched by the deplorable condition of the Jesse road and consequently prevailed on the council chairman, Hon Solomon Golley, who was said to have inspected the road and has approved its repair but lamented that lack of sufficient fund would make the council to do only patching work particularly on the impassable lane of the road pending when it would be fully rehabilitated by the state government.

He added that some tipper loads of granite to be used for stone base during the patching work are already on ground at various dilapidated spots of the road appealing to the state governor, Senator Ifeanyi Okowa, to consider the interest of political office holders first in the bailout fund in order to fulfill their electioneering promises as well as pay off the debts some of them incurred during and after their elections
