Ahead of the forthcoming Local Government elections in Delta State, the All Progressives Congress (APC) has said that they will use the strength of the masses to stop Peoples’ Democratic Party (PDP) rigging machine in the State.

Some Chieftains of the party in Ethiope West Local Government Area including Com. Deniran William, Save Agoda, Oris Ohwerhi, Hon. Solomon Ogbebor, Chief Gaius Jessah, Ogheregueke Micheal and Hon. Bright Igbi gave this hint at an enlarged meeting of Elders and Leaders of the party in the area.

Com. Deniran William, chairman, APC, Ethiope West Local Government Area disclosed that is all that is needed to dislodge the PDP in the State particularly in the local government area is for every party faithful to embark on door to door mobilization and sensitization of the people on their civic responsibility to vote and monitor their votes during elections.

On their part, Hon. Solomon Ogbebor, Save Agoda, Michael Oghenegueke, Chief Gaius Jessah and Hon. Bright Igbi who are Leaders of the party in the area were unanimous in their charge to party leaders and aspirants to be aggressive in registering all eligible voters in the ongoing Continuous Voters Registration exercise, noting that it is by so doing that the APC will have the potent weapon to outclass the PDP in whatever move they may decide to take.

They also urged party members to embark on ward to ward membership drive in order to boost the membership strength of the party in the area.

Also speaking during the well-attended meeting held at Hon. Halims Agoda’s residence in Jesse town, Mr. Emeje Jefferson, an APC local government chairmanship aspirant who posited that for the aggressive mobilization and registration of eligible voters to be effective, there is also the need to tap from the financial resources of well to do members to drive the process. He then called on members to contribute willingly towards this all important exercise to achieve desired result.

Meanwhile, a general meeting of all APC members in Ethiope West Local Government Area has been scheduled for Sunday, September 17, 2017 at the APC Secretariat Oghara.
