The House Committee on Works of the Delta State House of Assembly Asaba, has paid a familiarization/courtesy visit to the Director General and Management of Direct Labour Agency (DLA) at its headquarters in Asaba with a call to ensure that the purpose of establishing the interventionist agency to providing quality service to Deltans is attained.

Welcoming the House Committee Chairman and members under the leadership of Hon. Chief Evance Ochuko Ivwurie, the Director General of Direct Labour Agency (DLA), Rt. Hon. Franc Enekorogha commended the Committee for the visit while assuring them of a robust working relationship.

Rt. Hon. Enekorogha disclosed that the Agency has embarked on the rehabilitation of existing and some failed portion of roads across the three (3) Senatorial Districts and has all it takes to build a standard roads network across the state.

He said going by the economic crisis currently experience in the country, the agency has done it’s best as an interventionist organ of government, calling on the Committee to improve more on its oversight function.

Responding, Chairman House Committee on Works of the Delta State House of Assembly Asaba, Hon. Chief Evance Ochuko Ivwurie charged the Director General and Management of the agency to ensure that the purpose of establishing the organization to providing quality service to Deltans is attained across the state.

Hon. Ivwurie assured the Director-General and Management of the Direct Labour Agency (DLA) of the State Legislature commitment in enhancing the overall development of all sectors in the state economy.

The Chairman of the House Committee on Works Hon. (Chief) Evance Ochuko Ivwurie was accompanied by the following members of the Committee:
1. Hon. (Olorogun) Dennis Omovie
2. Hon. Barrister Daniel Mayuku
3. Hon. Kennedy Daubry
4. Hon. Anthony Elekeokwuri
5. Hon (Engr.) Emeka Nwobi.

According to him, the reason for the visit is to familiarize members of the Committee to the agency, adding there is need for us to work together in harmony to achieve quality service delivery to Deltans.

Hon. Ivwurie said that members of this Committee were carefully selected by the Rt. Hon. Speaker Chief Sheriff Oborevwori based on proven track records and experiences of the members and we hope to use this wealth of experiences of the legislative business to take our dear state to an enviable height as envisaged by His Excellency Senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyichukwu Okowa, Governor of Delta State.

The House Committee Chairman on Works, Hon. Chief Evance Ochuko Ivwurie used the medium to thank His Excellency, Senator Dr. Arthur Ifeanyichukwu Okowa, Governor of Delta State for investing in the critical infrastructure of road networks.
