Itsekiri Leaders of Thought, ILT, has charged the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU to continue in the bridge-building project with other ethnic nationalities of late Gen.Patrick Aziza stressing that it is the only way they can immortalize him.

The Itsekiri Leaders of Thoughts gave this charge when they commiserated with the Urhobo Progress Union, UPU, and the Family of Late Gen. Patrick Aziza over the death of Gen. Patrick Aziza at Adagbrassa, Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State.

Secretary of Itsekiri Leaders of Thoughts, Barr. Edward Ekpoko said the ILT received with “shock” the death of Gen.Patrick Aziza, adding that “the only way the Urhobo Progress Union can immortalize him is to continue with his brdge-building project to other ethnic nationalities”.

Barr. Ekpoko said the late Gen. Aziza stood for peace and unity not only to the Urhobo people but to other ethnic natiolities, noting that the UPU under the leadership of Gen.Aziza extended warm hand of friendship to the Itsekiri through the Itsekiri Leaders of Thoughts as well as other ethnic nationalities in Delta State when it marked the 80th anniversary.

The Ijaw,Isoko and Itsekiri Leaders Forum, lamented that Gen. Patrick Aziza being the “arrow-head” of the union between the Urhobos, the Ijaws, Isokos and Itsekiris and other ethnic nationalities could not live to see the tribes cement their relationships before his death.

Leader of the delegation of the three I’s, Chief Dennis. A. Etaluku who described Gen. Aziza as a” public figure and father” said the Ijaw,Isoko and Itsekiri Leaders Forum missed him dearly because he stood for “unity.”

Acting President General and National Secretary of Urhobo Progress Union, Chief (Engr.)Joe Omene and Chief Albert Akpomudje (SAN) who described the death of the departed President General of UPU as a “big blow” to the Urhobo Nation and many other ethnic nationalities, assured the Itsekiri Leaders of Thoughts of their preparedness to continue to foster the existing and peaceful relationships with other ethnic nationalities pointing out that it is the only way they can truly immortalize and respect their leader. They vowed to forge ahead in unity with other ethnic nationalities so that the aspiration of
Gen. Aziza for Delta central will be greatly achieved.
