It is rather unfortunate to note that Nigerian politicians are not honest with what they say, as they talk with double tongues. Their yes is no, and their no is yes. And this is why the country is not developing. They only think of how they can grab power without what they will meaningfully contribute to the state and nation.

Take the pathetic state of the Osubi airport near the oil city of Warri for instance. I see no reason why a person living in Warri will have to drive to Benin in other to fly to Abuja and Lagos. The Osubi airstrip is not functional till now. What sort of a State and country are we? Why is Governor Okowa pretending over the non-functionality of the Osubi airport near Warri? What image is Governor Okowa projecting when the all-important Osubi airport is not functional? Thereby passengers would have to drive/travel the already bad Warri/Sapele/Benin Expressway just to board a flight to Lagos and Abuja.

What will be Okowa’s gain if the Osubi airport is shut down? How will oil companies not relocate from Delta State to Lagos and Port-Harcourt? Who is losing? Governor Okowa should stop all the pretense as if all is well. When the oil city of Warri has no functional airport for quite some time now.

The situation is not good at all for the economy and image of Delta State within the Niger Delta region.
