The Presiding Bishop of Garden of Life Assembly, Warri, Archbishop Edward Orowoje (JP) has urged Nigerian to be patient and cooperate with President Bola Tinubu in his fight against insecurity, saying that the security situation in the country will soon be a thing of the past.

Archbishop Orowoje said President Tinubu inherited a country that has been bastardized over a period of time adding that it take some time before anyone can fix it.

Orowoje who made this statement in Warri in an interview with our Correspondent at the Garden of Life Assembly, noted that the insecurity faced by the country was not peculiar to the country.

He however, said that Nigeria is going to come out of every challenges or is facing soon. He added that all that needed for Nigerian to do was to cooperate with this government.

“I think Nigeria will soon come out of this conundrum and moment from now. All we have to do is be patient with this current government. Life is not easy anywhere even when you go abroad thinks are expensive there.

“We should give the present government all the necessary cooperation so that he can deliver the dividend of democracy to us all. That man you are seeing the transformed Lagos and if we give him the necessary support and cooperation he will do something for us. Nigeria was badly mutilated by past regimes and we are picking the pieces together.

“However, we are going to come out of this very soon. All that we needed to do is to cooperate with this government. We all know they even on our homes some of your children will betray you at one point or the other,” he said.

Archbishop Orowoje further said that education is the bedrock of progress, advising the youths in the country to pursue education so as to secure that future.

He noted that though education was very important it is good for the youths to also learn skills as they are pursuing their education so that when they come out of the university they could also become employers of labour.

“When you finish school you should try to have a skill because all of us cannot work in the office. When you have a skill you can also employ other people. We are created to recreate. But today everybody wants to work in government establishment and we all know that government cannot give everybody jobs. Even in the outside countries there are unemployment challenges there too. So the problem is not peculiar to Nigeria,” Orowoje said.

The cleric also lambasted some men of God for also not telling those who are in the helms of affairs the truth. He said most clerics were only concerned about how they could become rich leaving their followers to suffer while they are living life of affluence.

“Another problem we have in this country is that nobody wants to say the truth, especially in the religious sector. You are a man of God and you are living a life of affluence when most of your members cannot pay their rents. What gospel are you preaching. Can you preach the gospel to a hungry man? You are telling him to repent for the Kingdom of God is at hand. He will tell you that he wants to die now so that he can go and enjoy the kingdoms of God in heaven,” Orowoje added.
