ANNOUNCEMENT OF THE PROGRAMME OF ACTIVITIES FOR THE FINAL BURIAL RITES OF HIS ROYAL MAJESTY, AMAA-PERE: AMAKOSU OF OGBE-IJOH WARRI KINGDOM, ODUWOR 111

The Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Traditional Council of Warri South and Warri South-West Local Government Areas of Delta State wishes to announce the programme of activities for the Final Royal Burial Rites of His Royal Majesty, AMAA (the 11thPERE) Pere: Amakosu of Ogbe-Ijoh Warri Kingdom, Oduwor 111, who by God’s grace reigned from 1974 to 2012.

DAY ONE: SATURDAY 24TH MAY, 2014

1.      TRADITIONAL WAKE KEEPING/DUWE DEINKORU

2.      MASQUERADE DISPLAY (OGBOLOMO)

3.      IGODO (TRADITIONAL CLEANSING).

DAY TWO: SUNDAY 25TH MAY, 2014

INTERDOMINATIONAL SERVICE AT OGBE-IJOH TOWN.

DAY THREE: MONDAY 26TH MAY, 2014

CEREMONIAL DANCES BY SUB- COMMUNITIES IN OGBE-IJOH/WARRI KINGDOM:

a.      Egragbene; b. Orugbene; c. Ijansa d. Kelegbene e. Iyangbene.

DAY FOUR: TUESDAY 27TH MAY, 2014

1.      PERE OGELE IN WARRI TOWNSHIP

2.      BOAT REGATTA

3.      CEREMONIAL DANCES BY SUB-COMMUNITIES:

a.      Wilikigbene Zone; b. Bomobolou Zone; c. Arentonghan Zone; d. Odidi Zone e. Warri Corner Communities.

4.      In-Laws Greetings.

DAY FIVE: WEDNESSDAY 28TH MAY, 2014

1.      CONDOLENCE VISIT BY TRADITIONAL RULERS AND OTHER PERSONALITIES

2.      SELECTED MUSICIANS WOULD BE ON STAGE.
