Ighogbadu All Stars Win 2025 Africa for Peace Mini Football Tournament

The 2025 second edition of the Africa for Peace Mini Football Tournament has concluded with Ighogbadu All Stars FC emerging champions in a competition that featured more than 32 teams across male, female, senior and junior categories.

The month-long sports fiesta, held at the Africa for Peace Game Village, Ugolo Town near Osubi Airport in Okpe Local Government Area of Delta State, is sponsored annually by Chief (Comrade) Sheriff Mulade, PhD, CEO and National Coordinator of the Center for Peace and Environmental Justice (CEPEJ).

The tournament aims to foster unity and peaceful coexistence among the diverse ethnic groups in Warri and its environs.

At the grand finale held on Sunday, December 7, 2025, each player who participated in the final match received ₦100,000 as appearance reward. Ighogbadu All Stars FC lifted the trophy and earned the star prize of ₦1 million alongside other consolation gifts.

Daudu United All Stars FC finished as first runners-up and received ₦500,000, while Odedego FC placed third and went home with ₦300,000.

Awards were also presented to outstanding teams and players. Daudu FC won the Best Behaved Team (Senior Category), while Pipeline Dragons clinched the Best Behaved Team (Junior Category). Prosper, jersey number 8 of Uyoko FC, was named Most Valuable Player (Junior), with Atutu of Daudu FC winning the MVP award in the senior category.

Otrukpe Atutu of Daudu FC also emerged the tournament’s highest goal scorer in the senior division with 13 goals, while Edwin Maminogo topped the junior category with 10 goals.

Speaking with journalists after the final match, Chief Mulade said the tournament was designed to promote peace, discover talents, and complement government efforts in strengthening peaceful coexistence across Delta State.

He appealed to multinational oil companies, private firms, and both local and foreign investors to support the initiative and invest in the state, noting that peace and stability have been restored in Warri and surrounding communities.

Chief Mulade expressed optimism that the Africa for Peace Mini Football Tournament will continue to serve as a platform for nurturing young talents and fostering unity among youths in Delta State.
