As the world celebrated the Humanitarian Day, a leading figure in the humanitarian service and a notable palace chief, Chief Eduwu Ekhator, the Obasogie of Benin Kingdom has eulogized the Edo state Governor, Comrade Adams Oshiomholes for rising up to the challenges of the Internally Displaced Persons, IDPs living at Ohogua in Ovia North East Local Government Area of Edo State.

The popular chief who is the Edo State Chairman, Peace And Conflict Resolution Committee stated succinctly in his office in Benin City that other governors should borrow  leaf from the Edo State Governor who has taken upon himself the responsibility to take care of the IDPs in his state.

I could give the credit to the executive governor of the state from this part of the world. He is a man full of wisdom. A man who is so much a philanthropist and his own has no stop. See what has just happened to the Internally Displaced Persons that were just brought from the North East part of the country. He magnanimously gives them the option to stay here not only that, he took the responsibility to carter for their schools, feedings, and other responsibilities of theirs. That is how to extend good humanity.

If you are a humanitarian, do not be an extrovert, extend it to other people. The needy you do that, they have shortcomings what is the point you antagonizing them and not bringing them nearer to yourself? In actual facts, all other states governors, other states administrators, across even those in Diaspora should borrow a leaf from what the executive governor has done in Edo State, the chief said.

Chief Ekhator noted also, that the care for the needy in the society should not be left to the government alone; but everyone must wake up to lend a helping hand to them in his or her own little capacity without expecting a return and it must be done in good faith adding that, that is the only way God can bless and reward the them.

It is when you do it with good faith without expecting a feedback or expecting a return that it will definitely be fully satiated by God Almighty. So I inspire all the churches, and every other organization here that if they do, He will replenish their purse and when they have it, they should not mind when they do it, it should be cheerfully done and distributed, he said.

Chief Ekhator , a force to be associated with in Benin City and all over the world for his humanitarian disposition is said to be a trailblazer when it comes to the issues of settling conflicts involving various communities in the city and other states. And since he assumed the office as the chairman of Peace and Conflict Resolution Committee, various warring communities have chosen to live in peace and harmony due to his sagacious ways of handling matters.
