244_Agip_logo_400He described the Irri Protest to the Oil Company as a revolt against the “I don’t care attitude” of  Agip management towards Isoko ethnic Nationality.

Comr. Morrister Idibra, HOSTCOM Chairman of Isoko Nation gave  this charged in a chat with our correspondent over the weekend.

He said that AGIP has failed in its responsibility to the people of Irri community and Isoko nation in general, saying “that is why we embarked on this protest to Agip in a bid to remind them of their corporate responsibilities to Isoko Nation and that of their immediate Community of operation.

“The company has bluntly refused to hearken to the voice of Irri President General and that of the Regent – Traditional Ruler – Odiologbo of Irri Kingdom. What we are clamoring for is recognition through dialogue in meeting our demands in the areas of empowerment, good road networks, and award of contracts to indigenous contractors among others”

He also commended the stands of Isoko Progressive Youths Centre (IPYC) in the Irri Protest, making a case for the good people of Isoko Nation to always be in the stream of benefiting from the Oil companies in unanimous voice devoid of segregation for the progress, development and overall interest of Isoko Nation.

In a similar development, Comr Idibra while reacting to the Idheze pipeline burst opined that, the event is not connected to the Niger Delta Avengers but stressed that whatever the cause maybe, it could be expression of grievances.

While condenming the act, he called caution and the need for Agip to meet “our needs is very expedient and they must not shy away from their responsibilities.
