A group, Niger Delta Women for Change, has debunked allegations of biased contract awards against the Vice President of NNPCL, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, saying the allegations are baseless and lack substantial evidence.

Addressing Newsmen in Warri during the weekend, Secretary of the group, Juliet Oritsemisan, told journalists that the allegation against Eyesan, were attempts to undermine her significant contributions to nation building, adding that the allegations were also fueled by tribalistic blackmail which threatened the principles of fairness and meritocracy that she upholds.

Oritsemisan said that in spite of the attacks, the EVP remains steadfast in her dedication to the principles of professionalism and inclusivity, noting that her commitment to advancing the energy industry, irrespective of tribal affiliations, stands as a testament to her vision for a unified and prosperous Nigeria.

Clarifying and debunking the allegations against Eyesan, the group said that Eyesan has been a dedicated professional committed to upholding the highest standards of integrity and fairness in her role. She therefore, invited “the public, media, and stakeholders to join in rejecting baseless allegations and support leaders like Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan, who has contribute significantly to the nation’s progress.

“As the Executive Vice President, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan continues to lead with integrity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the betterment of NNPCL and the nation at large.

“Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan serves perfectly as the Executive Vice President of NNPCL, bringing a wealth of experience, visionary leadership, and a steadfast commitment to fostering excellence within the organization.

“The ongoing attempts to besmirch Mrs. Eyesan’s reputation only serve to underscore the importance of supporting leaders who prioritize competence over divisive narratives. As the Executive Vice President, Mrs. Oritsemeyiwa Eyesan continues to lead with integrity, resilience, and an unwavering commitment to the betterment of NNPCL and the nation at large.

“As a key Strategist of one of Africa’s biggest companies, she led teams that developed corporate strategy, influenced government policies, regulations, laws, while orchestrating commercial agreements (including infrastructure development for local and multinational projects).

“Prior to assuming her new role as EVP, she served as the Chief Strategy & Sustainability Officer starting in November 2022. In this capacity, she spearheaded commercial negotiations and supervised the Joint Entitlement Models for overseeing the renewed PSCs in OMLS 133, 138, 125, 132, 128, and 132.

“During her tenure as the Chief Strategy Officer at NNPCL, Eyesan played a key role in orchestrating the negotiation of the Gas Sales and Purchase Agreement for OML 118. This agreement not only paved the way for the commercialization of Deepwater PSC gas but also facilitated the recovery of stranded funds in favor of NNPC Ltd,” the group said.
