The people of Delta State as well as members of the ruling People’s Democratic Party (PDP) have been called upon to ensure that Olorogun David Edevbie emerge as the governorship candidate of the party to enable him bring his wealth of experience and political sagacity to bear on the state with a view to move it to greater heights.

This call was made by Edevbie Grassroot Political Group, a political pressure group in a statement at the end of an enlarged meeting of members drawn from the twenty-five local government areas of the state signed by Mr. Fredrick Ofogba and Comr. Onoriode Onogho, chairman and secretary respectively of the group , they said that Olorogun Edevbie has the pedigree and capacity to pilot aright the affairs of Delta State if given the mandate.

The group said that Olorogun Edevbie, a developmental economists with a well articulated developmental manifesto, “Modernization Agenda” covering agriculture, health, education, ICT, industrialization, security, employment, Empowerment, power, inflow of foreign investments, peaceful and harmonious Delta State will give the people of the State the much needed development in all ramifications if given the opportunity come 2023 to govern the state and move it forward from where the incumbent, Dr. Ifeanyi Okowa would stop.

According to the group, “we are using this opportunity to call on the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) to fully support Olorogun Edevbie, a detribalised man , a development expert to emerge as the Party’s flag bearer in governorship primary and the 2023 general elections. We are also humbly urging the good people Delta State to massively throw their support behind Olorogun Edevbie, vote for him to become the next governor of Delta State come 2023 for overall development of our dear state.”

The group added, “Olorogun Edevbie is most qualified, he has the political pedigree, academic qualifications, inter-personal relations among others to govern Delta aright if given the mandate. Olorogun Edevbie is politically sagacious to carry all stakeholders along with a view to having a politically stable Delta state that would be a safe haven for would be investors which would in turn boost the state’s economy that would make the people to be economically viable and stable.”

The group spoke further, “we urge all stakeholders to work to ensure that Olorogun Edevbie gets the ruling PDP governorship ticket and subsequently voted in as governor because he has the requisite political, academic and career experience to deliver on schedule as he has been tested and trusted, he is also a loyal party man. His excellent work experience that cuts across international boundaries and vast political experience that saw him occupy key positions in and outside the state sets him miles ahead of other aspirants within and outside the party.”

The group disclosed that as a technocrat and someone who has been in government and governance, Olorogun Edevbie is ready to deliver if given the mandate to govern Delta State, adding that his plans for the State and people are great, adding, ” Olorogun Edevbie’s futuristic thinking envisions the dire need to deploy long-term perspective paradigms for the sustainable and speedy growth and development of Delta State, he is capable to give the State good leadership, let’s support him to actualize his noble dreams and vision for our dear state.”
