…..As they endorse Arch. Tonye Dele Cole
Former National Assembly (NASS) Members Caucus of APC, Rivers State has congratulated Rt. Honourable Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi, the Minister of Transportation and the Leader of the APC in the South-South geopolitical zone of Nigeria, on his appointment as the Director-General/Secretary of the Buhari-Osibanjo Campaign Organisation.
“This double barrel appointment” according to a statement signed by the duo of Hon (Chief) Ike Chinwo, KSC (Chairman) and Hon. Fred Mbombo Igwe (Secretary) – former National Assembly (NASS) Members Caucus of APC, Rivers State noted that it “did not come to us as a surprise because we know our Leader and have absolute confidence in his ability, capability and capacity to excellently discharge the responsibility that President Muhammadu Buhari has entrusted upon him. The Caucus is aware of the fact that he delivered convincingly in 2014-2015 when he performed the uncommon feat of delivering our President and the Party in the keenly contested 2015 Presidential Election where a powerful incumbent was thoroughly defeated and sent out of office.”
Continuing, they said, “We are aware that the task ahead is enormous but we also believe that the terrain is a very familiar one to our Leader. However, we enjoin every member of our Great Party across the Country, irrespective of their disposition, to join hands with the Director General and his team to deliver the President in the forthcoming 2019 Presidential Election. All hands must be on deck in the noble exercise of keeping the opposition, whose stock in trade is massive corruption and general mis-governance, at bay.”
They prayed for Divine wisdom and direction in the choice of the men and women that will constitute his team and asked for God’s protection upon him and the entire Campaign organisation in the discharge of the laudable task ahead.
They thanked President Muhammadu Buhari for his implicit confidence in Honourable Chibuike Rotimi Amaechi and pray that God should lead them to victory to continue the task of making Nigeria a better place for all.
In different development, the caucus of former National Assembly Members of the All Progressive Congress (APC), Rivers Sate Chapter has formally and unequivocally endorsed the aspiration of Architect Tonye Dele Cole as the Governorship Candidate of the All Progressive Congress (APC) for the 2019 general elections after thorough analysis and consideration of all feasible factors.
The former NASS members made their endorsement known in a statement today.
It reads: “Our endorsement is anchored on our belief that his entry into the race is not only a breadth of fresh air but Devine, timely and in the best interest of the Party especially at this point in time. To us, it would facilitate greatly, the defeat of the incumbent non-performing Governor, Nyesom Wike. We are convinced that Arch. Tonye Dele Cole has the capacity to change the narrative in the governance from the current rudderless and waste regime in the state to that of prudence and productivity.
“His vision of sustainable wealth creation and distribution will boost investment, growth and generate employment. He will definitely use his international exposure and string of business successes to attract investments that will catapult the state to an investment heaven and a destination of choice.
“Indeed, we are confident that Arch, Tonye Cole’s leadership when he eventually becomes Governor will engender a change in the mind-set of the average Rivers Man and Woman, thus making way for the emergence of entrepreneurial spirit which is needed for sustainable growth and development. And with the philosophy of”One Rivers, One People”, we are sure that the state will witness an era of unprecedented unity, with People bonding together to pursue our common goal at all times.
“We therefore, call on all our Party members to join hands in the support of Tonye Dele Cole, so that together our match to the Brick House in 2019 will be realised for the good of all.
