Olorogun O'tega Emerhor

Olorogun O’tega Emerhor

The Olorogun O’tega Emerhor Campaign Organization has said that there was no crack in Delta State All Progressives Congress (APC).

In a press statement by the Media Assistant of Olorogun O’tega Emerhor Campaign Organization, Larry Umolo, he frowned at a recent publication alleging a crack in the Delta APC.

According to the statement; “The attention of Olorogun O’tega Emerhor Campaign Organization has been drawn to the cover story of the current edition of Urhobo times titled ‘Emerhor/Keyamo’s Senatorial ambition causes crack in Delta APC.’ It is our belief that this purported news story was sponsored by those who are afraid of Olorogun O’tega Emerhor’s emergence as  the flag bearer of APC in the forthcoming Delta Central senatorial bye-elections. These persons are obviously hunted and scared of the front runner status of our principal in the current race for the vacant senatorial seat.”

“It is a common knowledge that our party, the APC along with our principal Olorogun Emerhor are currently the duo to beat in the race. Everywhere and at every turn in his consultations, traditional rulers, elders, leaders and youths of the Urhobo nation have been embracing the APC and have been upfront in their endorsement of Emerhor’s candidature.  His antecedent in opposition politics and his doggedness in fighting for the emancipation of the Urhobo nation precedes him everywhere he goes! This is the root of the fears of the sponsors of the purported news story,” it stated.

“The attention of Olorogun O’tega Emerhor Campaign Organization has been drawn to the cover story of the Urhobo Times Newspaper of September 12, 2013 titled ‘Emerhor/Keyamo’s Senatorial Ambition causes Crack in Delta APC’ in which some so-called faceless elders and leaders of APC in Delta State were quoted to have said that Olorogun Emerhor cannot be trusted.”

The statement also read; “For the avoidance of doubt,  any discerning reader knows that the Urhobo Times lead story was not about ” any crack in APC” but about discrediting Olorogun Emerhor in other to stop him from becoming the flag bearer of APC and hence removing his threat to these persons! If having two contending aspirants in a party is indicative of a crack, then the over 20 senatorial aspirants in the rival PDP should constitute 20 cracks in PDP and should,  in our opinion,  captured the attention of Urhobo Times before considering a crack in APC. Emerhor and Keyamo are contending aspirants in a vibrant and democratic party. The APC has internal mechanism that shall avail the best aspirant for its candidature! The attempt to label Olorogun Emerhor as a disloyal APC member, although has received some encouragement from rivals in and within our party, is a dead attempt on arrival. This gang up between his rival in the APC and the rival parties has now converged in “a call him a bad name to hang him” syndrome.”

Continuing it said; “It is a well known and documented fact that  our principal fought the PDP to a standstill in 2010 and 2011 elections under the opposition DPP and today he is again leading in the fight to reposition the Urhobo nation to take its rightful place through the instrumentality of the APC. Who in his right senses will accuse him of being a PDP loyalist other than those who are afraid and want to stop the moving train of APC in Delta state? What else can be their objective other than to foist a political novice and lightweight on APC for the senatorial race? A candidate that PDP can easily beat is want these persons want! Their intention is to choose a candidate for APC and PDP!

The statement further said; “The purported interview in Vanguard on August 20 being promoted by these undertakers was immediately and firmly refuted the very next day in the same Vanguard newspaper! The credentials of our principal as an opposition icon can never be impeached! Let these hideous green snakes put names to the so called elders of our great party APC whom they claimed that do not trust Olorogun Emerhor any longer. Our principal’s interview with the Vanguard is on tape, and the interviewer Mr Godwin Oghre is alive! Our principal is confident of what he said and will not be distracted by the antics of these agents of deceit! The Urhobo Times resorted to quoting dubious sources close to Mr Godwin Oghre, how come they could not directly interview Mr Oghre who lives in Sapele? Our principal has written evidence of Mr Oghre’s apology!”

“These fly by night sponsors of the Urhobo Times jaundiced news story are well known. They are failed politicians that had sold their Urhobo birth rights and are deservedly having a hard time hoodwinking the Urhobo nation to fall for their politics of continued enslavement of our people! Their main target is not our principal, Olorogun Emerhor,  but the Urhobo nation!  They are commissioned agents of persons and institutions who want to continue to keep the Urhobo nation down.  They are afraid of the mission and the capacity of our principal,” it said.

According to the statement also; “We would want to advise these persons to amend their ways and return to the part of Urhobo Progress.  They could try reinventing their odious credentials and work harder towards acceptability instead of relying on politics of blackmail and subterfuge! Their antecedents of noise making and political prostitution are well known not only to us but also to the Urhobo nation as well as the leadership of our great party APC. We urge the Urhobo nation to beware of these latter day patriots with no history of yesterday!”

Concluding it said; “On a final note, let it be known to them that the game is on and that to reposition Urhobo in the scheme of things is a task that must and will be done in spite of the antics of these detractors!”

The One Million Naira question now is who is afraid of Emerhor?

Those in the senatorial race include; Ovie Omo-Agege (PDP), Ighoyota Amori (PDP), Omizu Odebala (PDP), Halim Agoda (PDP), Miller Orido (PDP), Andi Kayoma Osawota (PDP), Fred Majemite (PDP), Emmanuel Aguariavwodo (PDP).
