Encomiums, As Bashorun Askia Appoints 100 Liaison Officers Across Isoko Nation

As part of his pledge towards building human capacity, the Managing Director/Chief Executive Officer of Delta State Oil Producing Areas Development Commission (DESOPADEC), Bashorun Askia Ogieh, has issued appointment letters to a total of 100 persons as Community Liaison Officers (CLOs) selected from the wards across the oil producing Isoko nation, a mandate area of DESOPADEC.
The gesture is coming on the heels of Bashorun Askia’s continued pledge to ensure the establishment of human capital development and empowerment programme for his people, especially the youths, to complement the ongoing entrepreneurship schemes of the Governor Ifeanyi Okowa led administration.
Representing the MD/CEO DESOPADEC, Bashorun Askia during the official presentation of appointment letters to the liaison officers at his country home, Uzere in Isoko South local government area, the Director General, Hope Alive and Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on political matters, Chief Obaro Godspower, encouraged them to join hands with DESOPADEC and government in building a Stronger and Better Delta State.
The overwhelmed beneficiaries drawn from Isoko South and Isoko North local government areas respectively, who collected their letters of appointment alongside December, 2019 salaries, expressed appreciation to the Delta state Governor His Excellency Senator Dr. Ifeanyi Arthur Okowa and Bashorun Askia Ogieh on their human capital development initiative.
Accordingly, the duties of the Ward Liaison Officer include,
•Dissemination of information on DESOPADEC/Government Programmes on your community.
• Encourage your community to participate in DESOPADEC/Government Economic Programmes.
• Rendering periodic reports on the condition of DESOPADEC facilities such as Roads, schools, primary Health Care Centers etc in your community and
• Any other duties that may be assigned to you from time to time.
Meanwhile, leaders, sons and daughters of the oil producing Isoko nation have continued to pour encomiums on Bashorun Askia Ogieh whom they described as the “Angel of Empowerment” for his genuine interest in the growth of Delta State and Isoko land.
Speaking on the behalf of the people of Erohwa/Umeh Ward 08, Chief Alade Odiri, Otemunoruemu of Umeh Kingdom thanked Bashorun Askia, for deeming five of his constituents fit for appointment, to serve in the capacity of Liaison Officers.
He prayed for God’s continued blessings to keep him stronger for more Isoko and Delta developmental strides.
He therefore urged the appointees, who include Mr Sylvanus Esebewre, Comr Obaro Clever,, Mr. Samuel Erebi, Barr. (Mrs) Rosy Uwubiti Ogbemudia and Odiri Festus to handle the affairs of their new office diligently.
In the same vein, the National Coordinator, Askia Political Dynasty (APD), Prince Gabriel Udemude has described Bashorun Askia as “the King of empowerment of Isoko land” for single handedly appointing 100 Liaison Officers across the Isoko nation.
While enjoining the beneficiaries not to fail in the course of discharging their duties; he called on the people of Isoko nation to continue to support and pray for him for more dividends of democracy, adding that “Bashorun Askia has done well and his deeds are worthy of emulation.”
